The Theories and Observations of a Rhinocerous
Horns
I work with a guy who has fits of serious depression when his medication is either not doing the trick or when he forgets to take it. He left work early yesterday because he just couldnt focus on an animation file that we were working on. While he was gone, another employee started bad mouthing him in a way that made me ill. I finally took him aside and told him, 'If I ever hear another negative word out of your mouth about him again, I WILL fire you'.
What is wrong with people?!

I really love people and truly care about everyone that is in my life. When people have a mental illness or disease, I feel sometimes that other people either don't understand just how REAL it is or they just don't care. I can only hope that if I am found with a mental disease, that the people around me treat me with as much understanding and respect that I try to treat them with. Maybe we should all just stop and think about what we say about others. My grandfather used to always tell me to 'walk a mile in another man's shoes'... Maybe we should all try and do that from now on before we open our big yappers.

Father in heaven, you have blessed us! You have given us free will and the mind to love others. You have given us the ability to choose and the ability to love. Thank you, Oh Lord, for our freedom. Thank you, Oh Lord, for Your love. Thank you for painting our world with colors and music! I sing at the peak of my heart with joy at Your creations! I am bleseed to witness Your artwork! We can only thank You and praise Your name!
I have a mental illness to, I suffer from severe clinical depression and people don't get it when I'm in one of my 'moods' they just won't leave me alone!
U R so right. I have suffered from major depression, severe anxiety, & OCD for most of my life. For me, it's genetic. It's a roller coaster ride. One in which that if you do start feeling "normal" it's almost scary. Anyway, love the colors you've chosen. Nice journal! :)
I have family members with mental illness and it can be so frustrating to see how they are treated by strangers and even by people who know them well. Dehumanizing at least on some level. I hope your "talking to" causes a change in behavior on the part of your insensitive colleague. Often a change in behavior will lead to a change in attitude over time. We become what we do...so it's important to do what we want to become.
Thanks for dropping by! My mom has improved a LOT, and she made some wise or lucky choices of bones to break in the first place! She says if you're going to fall down the stairs, definitely go with a left side slide.
