America... Hot and Cold...

Horns

If you are driving down the road with the windows up and its really hot... what do you normally do? Roll down the windows or turn on the air conditioner, right?

Well...

I was at dinner with some friends last night and the conversation made its way to politics and how America is just falling apart. One of the people Im very good friends with went on and on about taxes, the war on terroism and schools. Now, Im a very simple person, and I normally give very obvious and simple advice (I make kids stuff for a living... hee hee)... so I just asked her what she was doing about it herself if anything. She got very defensive and a bit angry with me. I really was curious because if she had anything going, I might be interested in joining... ha ha... but anyway, after pointing the finger at politicians and history, I said the un-mentionable... yep... I said, well if you arent happy here and arent really going to do anything about it, ever think of moving somewhere better? She didnt answer, but my thinking is this. The world isnt perfect and yeah, America is and has gone through its moments, but you know what... Im pretty happy to be living in America right now and I havent researched many other countries to see if Id be interested in moving myself but... I just hope my friend doesnt think Im a jerk. I was only being honest and serious.

If its too hot, do something about it!

Halos

I heard my doorbell 2 nights ago... I went to answer it and it was the neighborhood kids... youve seen them... the 2005 version of Our Gang sans Alfalfa... LOL. They wanted me and my wife to come outside and tell them stories and draw them cartoons... They just made my week! I love those kids! Kids really just Rock.. lets take care of them!

Psalms

Thank you God for your children. They love and learn unconditionally and dance in the grass and play together so innocently. Thank you God for youth and for the timeline that you have created just for us. We know that time does not exsist, but children are our makers and reminders of what you intend for us to be. Lord, I only ask that you bless the children and help them to teach us.

Mental Health...

Horns

I work with a guy who has fits of serious depression when his medication is either not doing the trick or when he forgets to take it. He left work early yesterday because he just couldnt focus on an animation file that we were working on. While he was gone, another employee started bad mouthing him in a way that made me ill. I finally took him aside and told him, 'If I ever hear another negative word out of your mouth about him again, I WILL fire you'.

What is wrong with people?!

Halos

I really love people and truly care about everyone that is in my life. When people have a mental illness or disease, I feel sometimes that other people either don't understand just how REAL it is or they just don't care. I can only hope that if I am found with a mental disease, that the people around me treat me with as much understanding and respect that I try to treat them with. Maybe we should all just stop and think about what we say about others. My grandfather used to always tell me to 'walk a mile in another man's shoes'... Maybe we should all try and do that from now on before we open our big yappers.

Psalms

Father in heaven, you have blessed us! You have given us free will and the mind to love others. You have given us the ability to choose and the ability to love. Thank you, Oh Lord, for our freedom. Thank you, Oh Lord, for Your love. Thank you for painting our world with colors and music! I sing at the peak of my heart with joy at Your creations! I am bleseed to witness Your artwork! We can only thank You and praise Your name!

Theft...

Horns

What is wrong with everyone?! Im serious! People really don't get tired of letting me down. One of my employee's car was broken into yesterday and had over 200 CDs stolen. This morning we saw a kid outside in the parking lot looking into peoples windows. I ran downstairs to question him, but by the time I made it to the parking lot, he was gone. He couldn't have been more than 14 or so. Our company is located in a very well-to-do area of Connecticut. Im sure he didn't need the money or the eclectic music he stole that bad.

Halos

The people at my company all chipped in and gave my employee who had his CDs stolen $500. Sometimes people are good. Sometimes.

Psalms

I look into the sky in Your eyes. I look through the tears You wash our faces with. Lord, you have blessed us. You are our Father and we hold your hand. Nothing is ours, not even ourselves and we give what we have to our brothers and sisters and to You. Praise Your name! Praise Your name!

Selfishness...

  • Mood:

Horns

Why is everyone so selfish? That is the simplest way I can put it. Yes. Im included on this horn. Think about it. When was the last time you called somebody just to say, "Hey, I like who you are"? When was the last time you held the door for someone or offered to buy them coffee?

  • Would you jump on a bomb if it were thrown into a room with you and several others?
  • What have you done to show you care for others?
  • When someone is stuck in a messy intersection, do you let them in front of you or do you speed up thinking "you snooze, you lose"?

Halos

A woman came up to me at the Home Depot while my wife and I were in the gardening section. We were looking at some pretty purple flowers (we are not gardeners). She asked us if we knew anything about the flowers we were looking at. We said, "No". She then told us they were Asters and she told us when they bloomed, and how to take care of them. Thank you lady.

My friend Jim sent me a package with candy and toys and a CD he had burnt just because he wanted to share something fun with me. Thank you Jim.

My sound guy, Joel, just now walked in and gave me a Dunkin Donuts large coffee, for free. He knows me well. Thank you Joel.

Psalms

Lord, Your love is truly unconditional! Unexplainable! I want to love like You, Lord! Unconditionaly! Unexplainably! We should strive to Love like you, Oh Lord! We should love Unconditionally and Unselfishly and Unexplainably! We should love like You! We should love like You!
